The 2010 holiday ad campaign that I shot for La Encantada, an upscale open air mall in Arizona, illustrates the story of a dapper man-about-town as he picks up last minute holiday gifts for his family… and himself. Our hero, dressed in a Brooks Brother’s suit, stops at Tiffany & Co. where he buys a huge, four carat diamond anniversary ring.

The Menudo at Teresa’s Mosaic cafe a try. It was delicious! Not greasy at all, and they serve the menudo spices on the side so you can make it as hot as you like. And speaking of hot, they garnished the margarita with a jalapeno in addition to the usual salt and lime. It was the perfect combination of salty, sweet and spicy.
Ah, Sandwiches: Magazine Cover by Jackie Alpers
I visited an authentic South Philadelphia style cheesesteak shop, a combo Jewish/Italian deli, and a place whose name was inspired by The Lord of the Rings (Baggin’s). By the Light of the Moon
A while back Diane Kashy and the folks at Madden sent me out into the night to find and photograph plants that only bloom by the light of the moon. I wandered my neighborhood and the grounds at Hacienda del Sol which is an old boarding school turned into an inn. Here is a link to the article which is running this month in Tucson Home Magazine.

2008 Lucie Awards
I have been awarded two honorable mentions in the 2008 International Photography Awards Competition: In the Fine Art professional category for my food series, “Things I Ate” and for my “Self Portrait with Harvest Feast”. My images were chosen from over 22,000 entries.

Man Walking
The Volitant Gallery in Austin, Texas is including two of my images in their group exhibit about weddings and the ritual of marriage. “Tunnel Vision: Parading Down the Aisle is a collection of photography that confronts the viewer with images that are not your obvious depiction of wedding bells and bliss, but more an observation of how the concept of matrimony has evolved through the span of time. In contrast to mass medias approach to marriage, the images collected for this exhibition are meant to challenge the very root of union in this contemporary climate.”

I was sent out on assignment to explore international delis and markets. I found a lot of amazing food and terrific people and ended up buying a lot of really amazing ingredients to incorporate into home cooked meals.

Retro Monster Masks 6
My husband Jason collects monster masks. Eventually I had to declare that I only had one rule in our marriage, “NO monsters in the bedroom.” The monsters are almost everywhere else though, so when he came to me one day asking that I photograph all of the monsters in different classic settings, I sighed, but agreed, on the condition that he do all the styling. Every few days he came to me with a different idea that I diligently photographed, and we ended up with quite a collection. Below are some of my favorites (Ok, I did have a lot of fun.) Ghost Hunters!
Over the summer I was lucky enough to work as the still photographer on three episodes of the show Ghost Hunters for the Sci-Fi Channel. Basically I tromped around in the dark looking for ghosts with the show’s amazing cast and crew. It was a TON of fun!
