By the Light of the Moon

By the Light of the Moon

A while back Diane Kashy and the folks at Madden sent me out into the night to find and photograph plants that only bloom by the light of the moon. I wandered my neighborhood and the grounds at Hacienda del Sol which is an old boarding school turned into an inn. Here is a link to the article which is running this month in Tucson Home Magazine.

Man Walking

The Volitant Gallery in Austin, Texas is including two of my images in their group exhibit about weddings and the ritual of marriage. “Tunnel Vision: Parading Down the Aisle is a collection of photography that confronts the viewer with images that are not your obvious depiction of wedding bells and bliss, but more an observation of how the concept of matrimony has evolved through the span of time. In contrast to mass medias approach to marriage, the images collected for this exhibition are meant to challenge the very root of union in this contemporary climate.”

International Markets & Delis Travel Photography

I was sent out on assignment to explore international delis and markets. I found a lot of amazing food and terrific people and ended up buying a lot of really amazing ingredients to incorporate into home cooked meals.

Retro Monster Masks 6

Retro Monster Masks 6

My husband Jason collects monster masks. Eventually I had to declare that I only had one rule in our marriage, “NO monsters in the bedroom.” The monsters are almost everywhere else though, so when he came to me one day asking that I photograph all of the monsters in different classic settings, I sighed, but agreed, on the condition that he do all the styling. Every few days he came to me with a different idea that I diligently photographed, and we ended up with quite a collection. Below are some of my favorites (Ok, I did have a lot of fun.) You can see the whole series at Jason’s Flickr group.

Ghost Hunters!

Ghost Hunters!

Over the summer I was lucky enough to work as the still photographer on three episodes of the show Ghost Hunters for the Sci-Fi Channel. Basically I tromped around in the dark looking for ghosts with the show’s amazing cast and crew. It was a TON of fun! You can see some more of my images on the Ghost Hunters website or on TV Guide.com.
